SB Sberbank JSC hereby informs that from June 7, 2010, new twenty-digit account numbers (IBAN) and new Bank Identifier Codes (BIC) are introduced in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

IBAN is an international standard for bank account numbers developed by the International Organization for Standardization and the European Committee for Banking Standards. IBAN and BIC will be used both for payments within Kazakhstan and outside Kazakhstan. The purpose of the introduction of IBAN and BIC is to improve automatic payment processing, accelerated processing of international payments, reducing the number of erroneous payments. IBAN contains a two-digit numeric check digit, which allows you both for the bank initiating a payment, and the payee's bank and correspondent banks to check the correctness of the account number.

Your nine-digit account number will be automatically transferred to the new twenty-digit account number in the IBAN standard.

As from January 1, 2010, twenty-digit account number accounts will be assigned to any newly opened nine-digit. Nine-digit account (current structure) will be used in the payment documents until June 7, 2010, twenty-digit account (new structure) will be used in the payment documents from June 7, 2010.

Since June 7, 2010, in all local and international payments only account numbers in IBAN standard and the new bank identification codes will be used. The absence of a new bank account number and the new bank identification code makes it impossible to conduct banking operations. Payment orders without IBAN and BIC will not be accepted for processing and will be returned without execution.
